Client- US Operations of
Global Operator
Services Rendered: Site Hygiene and PIM Hunting
Coverage: Five US states
A US-headquartered global telco opened up for bidding a major site hygiene and passive Intermodulation (PIM) hunting contract covering over 500 sites across the states of Illinois, Michigan, Indian, Wisconsin and Ohio. The project was called for to address the service degradation experienced by mobile customers on the operator’s network across the identified coverage area.
“Site Hygiene is a critical network maintenance work requiring in-house staff or outsourced contractors to “clean” the install of the cell site. PIM requires sending people in the cell sites and identifying external PIM that are causing service degradation,” said Clarence Rivera, RUC
RUC won the bid and completed the project within the allocated timeframe. With PIM removed or diminished, the telco’s network’s performance radically improved.
“Network performance on our customer’s sites immediately improved and the end customers are happy. It benefitted our customer because better network performance means fewer complaints, fewer complaints mean lower churn rates, lower churn rates mean wider net to cast for upsell opportunities. Ultimately, that means more revenue generating opportunity for our client.
“These types of success stories are what keep us on our toes. We are always happy to partner with customers in their network transformation journey because the benefits are far-reaching. It impacts profitability and user experience,”
